Proscuting your own criminal case?

Hi, I have a quick legal question. If, for example, I am assaulted by another individual, can I choose to prosecute the individual in the criminal case where they would be convicted of the crime myself, rejecting the assigned prosecuting attorney? Or would I only be able to do so in the civil case?

If the individual is criminally prosecuted, it would be handled by a prosecutor. They would not let you do it. You could however sue the person Pro Se (without an attorney) in civil court.
