Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina
I recently went to a volleyball game at a small college in south carolina. I went to see my old girlfriend who is the head coach. We had broken up about a month ago. I went to the bleechers and sat down. I caused no trouble I didn't even wave to her so that I wouldn't upset her. She called the campus police and they said that I had to leave because I was making her feel uncomfortable. They took my ID to get my information and said that if I came back that I could be arrested for trespassing. I was very cooperative and left willingly. I have known the girl for over six years and our breakup was not a bad one. I was wondering if the police making me leave was legal or not.
Thanks.

Under the law you were a Guest on the property. As a Guest you can be told to leave and you can be restricted from returning.
