rental car contract
i rented a car for my son in law for 3 days. i then called and asked them not to let him rent it with my name on it as he was listed as a driver. they let him rent it anyway so he failed to return the car. they never contacted me at all had the law pick the car up from his home signed a warrant on me for failing to return the car. can my son in law be held responsible for this also they know he was the only one that used the car

Why did you rent a car for you son-in-law and expect not to be entangled in a mess if he did not return it? If you rented the car, the contract was probably in your name, and you were the responsible party. I doubt taking action against your son-in-law would solve your problem. On the other hand, if you contacted the car rental business and canceled the deal, and they gave him the car anyway, you may have suit against the car rental agency for abuse of process/malicious prosecution, etc. for having you arrested. I would need to know more facts.
