You do not request a motion of discovery at a Preliminary Hearing. It is not allowed and quite frankly it is unheard of. Do you know what a Preliminary Hearing is?

No offense. Please. I am not trying to insult you. Quite the opposite. I am trying to help you. Representing yourself in a criminal case is the most dangerous thing you can do. If you know so little about the law so as to ask the question that you just did, then you will fall flat on your face at a Preliminary Hearing and every other stage of the criminal process, both in court and out of court.

If there is a Preliminary Hearing on your case, then that tells me that its a General Sessions charge. If it is a General Sessions charge, then you are entitled to a free court appointed attorney if you cannot afford one.

I strongly, strongly, strongly advise you to seek an attorney.

My office is in Myrtle Beach in Horry County and I am a criminal defense attorney, should you be interested. I also represent people accross the state.

I wish you well.
