how do i avoid taking a court ordered class on a simple possession charge?

A court order is a court order. If someone is ordered by a court then they either do it or face reprecusions for having disobeyed the order. That could be jail. Maybe you should speak with the lawyer that represented you and see if he/she has any suggestions.
