Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina
I have a simple possession of pot charge from 1989 in Berkely County, first time offense. The paperwork I have from back then says it's categorized as a non misdemeanor and I have no idea what that is. I have no other record other than this charge, can I get this expunged since it's a first offense?

I have never heard of a "non misdemeanor." It sounds like it may have been a typo error.
Simple Possesson of Marijauana, first offense, with no other convictions after that, can be expunged.
You can call the County Solicitor's office to verify that. They are the ones that process expungements.
