Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina
My son, 16, was stopped tonight for a minor traffic violation and they found a very smalll amount of marijuana in the car on the passenger side floor....my son said it must have belonged to another girl he had dropped off. when the officer asked him if he smoked marijuana he said he did, but not recently. He has had negative drug screens and only had one episode of trouble for disrupting school which was settled in pretrial diversion. They released him to me and now I have to wait and go back to family court. He did not have any marijuana on his possession but what do I do to try to get this dismissed?

As far as the law is concerned, he was in possession of it. Your best bet is to retain an attorney.
