Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina

Statue of limitations

I would like to find out the statute of limitations on the charge of threatening the life of a public official. He had a court date that he went to the first time he was offered 60 days the second he was offered 90 days. He never came back for the next one he was out of town working and never received a new date, he even called the states attorney and she could not give him or his attorney a new date and then never responded again. This charge is at least 18 months old.

Re: Statue of limitations

I can tell you without even looking up the exact Statute of Limitations that the charge is still pending. Furthermore, it sound like there is a bench warrant for his arrest and they can stay in existance forever. My adive would be to immediately address this charge and call his attorney.
