Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina
Is their a statute of limitations on a bench warrant for cdv in south carolina
1 Answer from Attorneys
No. But there are ways of dealing with it. I have represented people here in the Myrtle Beach area in Horry County on bench warrants. Sometimes an agreement can be made with the solicitor on the case to resolve the bench warrant and the pending criminal charge all at once, which obviously makes things much easier for the defendant. I have also set it up where a person can turn themselves in, and then immediately have a bond hearing and get bonded out of jail so that they don't have to sit there. There are other possible ways of dealing with it. Plus, it also looks good in the long run when a person turns themselve in. Not to mention it gives the judge a reason to set a lower bond.
