a sting traffic ticket in greenville sc city
can a officer give you a ticket with a fine and then you go to court and plead no contest and the judge give you jail time for that offence or is the max that can be done is the total amount of the fine i live in south carolina and the ticket was solicition for imoral proposes

No Contest has the same affect as pleading guilty. It basically means that you do not feel your guilty, but you don't want to fight it either, so you are allowing the judge to go ahead and sentence you. The sentence doesn't have anything to do with pleading No Contest or Guilty. The judge is free to sentence the person under the statute anyway he/she sees fit
