i was victim of simple assault and battery

i was a victim of a simmple assault and battery at a rock concert guy was arrested and charged he spent night in jail had to stay for a bond hearing next a.m my question is i have to drive 3 hours to go to the court date to make sure my charges stay in affect . Could he still get off and is it possible that he can not even show up. i have a black eye swollen nose is there any other rights that i have . what would be the least penalty and the most severe that he could receive

1. Could he still get off? That would depend on the evidence in the case.

2. If he doesn't show up the prosecution has the right to proceed with the case in his absence.
