Legal Question in DUI Law in South Carolina

This this isn't drunk driving, just couldn't find the right category.

I'm 18. I was received a citation from a cop for possession of alcohol by underage. The ticket is $470. It is my first conviction/crime.

I have a few questions.

1.) If I know a cop, would he be able to put in a good word and help me out? (I JUST got the ticket.)

2.) What is the best possible outcome? And what is the most probable outcome?

Thank you so much!

-Kyle

Sorry for the delay in answering your question. It takes the site a couple days to get questions forwarded to attorneys.

You can always ask your friend the cop if he/she can put a good word in for you. It seldom helps, but it certainly can't hurt trying.

The best outcome for any sort of a criminal charge is a dismissal. The next best is to get into one of the programs to avoid court and prosecution all together. The programs involve doing some community service. Once the communiity service is completed, then they dismiss the charge and expunge the criminal record.

My office is in Horry County if your case is in this area and you want some help with it.
