what is considered a reasonable (competitive) fee for a criminal lawyer in south carolina to charge to challenge a first-time dui charge?

Assuming its a DUI First Offense, lawyers charge anywhere between $1,000 to $5,000. That is the high and low. Most will charge between $1,500 and $2,500. Some lawyers will charge higher if the case appears difficult and some will charge less if the case appears cut and dry. The DUI cases that I handle here in Horry County I usually charge $1,500. It all depends on the partular case.
