Legal Question in DUI Law in South Carolina

minor in posession

When friends and I were walking down the street we had cups that we had poured alcohol in to.I am only 20 and my friends were 21. When I noticed that an unmarked cop car was pulling up to us I threw my cup into the bushes. My friends who were 21 said that they had alcohol in their cups and when the cops asked me how old I was I told them 20. I was then put into their car and thats when I told them that I had beer in my cup. I was not given a breathalizer test but they did bag my cup as evidence. Since I was detained and then questioned without being read my miranda rights are they allowed to use the information I gave them against me?

No. Anything you say after being arrested cannot be repeated at trial.
