Legal Question in DUI Law in South Carolina
Posession in back seet of the car
I was sitting in the back seet of a car with three other people in it. That got pulled over for driving with out head lights. We had alchol in the back seet. I recieved a 250 dollor fine for posession after buying the alcohol even though it was not my car. I was the only one to recieve a fine is there any way I can get of without the fine? I am over the age of 18 and the alcohol was not open.

Re: Posession in back seet of the car
You have the right to a trial whereby the state would have to prove you guilty. Or, you may qualify for an alternative program to prosecution such as PTI or Alcohol Diversion. If you take one of the alternative programs you would not have to pay a fine and you would have your record destroyed so you would not have any criminal convicitons. Call if you have any questions.
