How to recind unwittingly given power of attorney?
My 86 year old dad unwittingly gave power of attorney to a friend of the family after my mom died last april. It has recently come to my dad's attention that the person is steling his money and he wants to recind the power of attorney. Can he do that? If so what would be the procedure for him to do such? Again, my dad is 86 years of age and although he is of sound mind, he is not a very savy person as far as law, business and things of that nature are concerned. Any information that can be provided to me would be greatly appreciated.

He signs a notarized revocation of Power of Attorney and gives it to all his financial institutions or wherever he has his assets, etc.
Giving someone a POA does not give them license to steal from them. Consider contacting the police/DA (considered elder abuse).
