Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Access to Family Court Records

My parents divorced when I was younger. There have been many accusations on both sides of the fence in regards to the battle over custody of my siblings and me. I would like to know the truth, and feel that family court records could answer some questions for me. I was wondering if I had the right to access these records? How do I go about accessing them? Thank you so much!

Re: Access to Family Court Records

Family Court divorce, separation, and child custody Orders are all public record. You simply need to contact the Clerk of Court in the County where the Order was issued, and they can make a copy for you for their standard copy rate.

If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.StevensFirm.com). I wish you the best of luck.
