Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Adoption by a Step-parent: forms

My husband would like to adopt my son, an 8 yr. old. We are all in agreement and my son's father is deceased (5 yrs. ago), so we would like to find the forms and represent ourselves. I have contacted the family court and this is allowed in SC. I am not sure where to find the forms and was wondering if you could help, or if someone has copies of standard adoption forms that we could use here in SC? Thank you for your time.

Re: Adoption by a Step-parent: forms

In Florida there is a self help division in the Courthouse. This division has forms. Check with your local courthouse and ask if there is such a division there. You could also try a law library. Tell the librarian what you are looking for and I am sure they could help you with this. I have forms but they reflect Florida Law. Good Luck!
