Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

annulment in South Carolina

I was married 12/31/06. Is is possible to get an annulment? He pressured me to marry him before the year end. I did and now he is a different person. He will not have sexual relations with me and has lost interest in giving me any affection at all. He was totally differnt before we married. This is my second marriage, as well as his. I want out as soon as possible. What do you suggest? Can an annulment be done? thank you!

Re: annulment in South Carolina

In SC, it is very difficult to get an annulment. One must prove that there was some fraud to induce you to marry him and that the marriage was never consummated. Most likely, you are looking at filing for separation now and divorce later.

If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.StevensFirm.com). I wish you the best of luck.
