Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Ok I had asked a question before but I guess I didnt explain good enough, so Im sorry. But me and my husband have custody of our granddaughter, the parents signed their parental rights over to us 4 yrs ago. We have a court order and all but they say they can get her back anytime they want. The dad is our son but neither have given any support for her in these 4 yrs. Mom comes to see her once in a blue moon. Dad sees her practically everyday. So I just wanted to know if they get her bk. Dont they have to prove us unfit or something in order to do this? Thank you so much

If you have an Order granting you custody, then the parents can attempt to regain custody, but they will be required to show that there has been a significant change of circumstances since you gained custody and that the change of custody is in the child's best interest.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
