Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Bifurcation

I filed for divorce on 08-2006 on grounds of adultry, drugs and one year separation. If I ask for bifurcation and let the custody later has she to agree or it can be done without her agreement? Thank you

Re: Bifurcation

Whether she agrees or not, that issue is solely within the judge's discretion, and most judges do not like to bifurcate cases.

If you already have an attorney, you should discuss this issue with him/her to get more advice based on the facts of your particular case.

If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.StevensFirm.com). I wish you the best of luck.
