Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina
Bio fathers legal rights
Long story short I have a child from an extramarital affair. Her biological father knows and is uninvolved at this time. My husband and I have stayed together to give the child a 2 parent life, his name is on the birth certificate. Do I need to have biological father terminate his rights to keep any challenges of laws and rights to the child in the future from happening or can we just leave it alone. Thanks

Re: Bio fathers legal rights
The safest approach would be to have the biological father sign and execute a Consent and Relinquishment of his Parental Rights, in order to minimize the chance that you may have a problem in the future.
