Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

braces and tutoring costs

Can I make my daughters father pay for half of her tutoring cost? Can I make him pay for half for her braces? He said he would pay for half of the braces and did so for about 7 or 8 months and then just stopped. My child support order says he has to pay for half of all health expences. What can I do?

Re: braces and tutoring costs

As for the tutoring cost, you can ask the Court to require him to contribute toward it. If the Court finds that it is necessary and the cost is reasonable, then it will likely require him to contribute toward that expense.

With regard to the braces, that would fall under medical expenses, which you say he is already ordered to pay half. If he is not paying his portion, you can file a contempt action against him to force him to pay his part.
