Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

I was given a car during my divorce 2 years ago. The car is in my ex husbands name completely, my name is not on any of the documentation for this car. However, it is my divorce papers that I am responsible for the car. The questions is, do I have the legal right to return the car, if I cant afford it any longer?

Thank you.

If you were ordered to pay the expenses for that vehicle, then it is your responsibility/obligation to do so. If you don't and violate the Order, then you can be held in contempt of court. The fact that the vehicle is in his name does not relieve you of your obligations under the order.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
