child abandonment laws

how long without contact is considered

child abandonment in s.c.? my ex-

husband has joint custody but has not

contacted me or my son since april. i

heard 6 months but i've also heard a

year.

He has not violated any law because the child was not abandoned because the child is with you, the other parent. If you are asking how long must he not visit before you can try to terminate his parental rights, then that period is six months, provided the failure to visit is willful.
