Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Child custody

My ex-boyfriend and I have went to court for the custody of our 2 and 3 year old. The judge appointed us both to go through a Guardian Ad Litem, and come back to court for the decision. We got back together before the Process was even finished. We never went any further with it. We are no longer together. Do we have to start back where we left off, or go back to court and start all over again? Thanks!

Re: Child custody

The answer depends on whether your prior case was dismissed or not and how long it has been since the order was issued. Most likely, you will need to refile and start over.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
