child custody

As Grandparents we raise our six year old granddaughter. We have court papers that give us CUSTODY. This is not GUARDIANSHIP. ? Can our daughter (the mother) take this child without going back to court ?

Re: child custody

If you have custody of the child, then only the Family Court can change that, and a case must be filed against you in order to do so.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
