Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Child Custody and support

II had a male child with another man while I was married. I have left my husband, children, and moved out of state to be with another man. The father of my son had me served with papers. He is seeking full custody, child support, and all his court /attorney fees to be paid and supervised visitation. I make l about $14.00 and hour. I have filed bankruptcy several times and have no money or credit. I am trying to help both of my children with financial support. I cannot afford to get a divorce from my husband of years. What are my rights and what can I expect when I go into the court room this Thursday since I cannot afford an attorney?

Re: Child Custody and support

You can expect the Court to address the issues you mentioned, and it sounds as though he has the upper hand. You should certainly consult with and retain an attorney, to make sure that your rights are protected as best you can.

If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.StevensFirm.com). I wish you the best of luck.
