Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina
Child Custody, Taking out of state
I have custody of my kids every other weekend, holidays and half the summer. Do I have to get my ex-wife's permission to take them for a short visit out of state? She usually stays in touch with them via cell phone so they will still have a open communication path.

Re: Child Custody, Taking out of state
Unless the custody Order prohibits you from removing the children from this state, you can take them out of the state during your periods of visitation whether she agrees or not.
If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.StevensFirm.com). I wish you the best of luck.
