Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Child protective service

my brother and his girlfriend live with thier 2 children. they had a neighbor call social services saying that they were doing crack cocaine.My brother tested positive for marijauna but nothing else. what can we expect from a law stand point and if the children are taken from the home would i be able to get them if i live in another state.
