Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Child Services looking at conversations

I have a child in foster care because, the mother had left me to South Carolina and she lived with an abusive man who broke my sons (1 1/2 years old) wrist and bruised his face badly. Shes in jail currently for unlawful child neglect. Now they are watching my conversations on facebook and probably texting on my phone, can they legally do that? and if so can i stop them from invading my privacy?

Re: Child Services looking at conversations

First, if you want to try to get custody of your child, then you should act as quickly as possible, and the best course of action is to hire an attorney who has experience handling Family Court cases and dealing with D.S.S.

As far as anyone monitoring your conversations on Facebook, you have the option there to restrict who has access to all such information. If you have chosen to grant them access or left your account open, then they are not doing anything wrong. As for the text messages, you did not provide enough information to comment on that inquiry in this forum.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.

If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.StevensFirm.com). I wish you the best of luck.
