Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

child surport

My husband has had legal custody of his 17 year old all her life. Three weeks ago she decided to live with her mom. At the end of Jan. she'll be 18. Would the father have to start paying surport since the daughter left on her on free will

Re: child surport

If the mother gets legal custody of the child, then the answer is probably yes. The child support obligation does not end until the child reaches 18 years of age.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
