Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

cohabitation

My friend gets alimony which will terminate with cohabitation. We go on vacations together, spend week-ends together, and aren't sure what constitutes cohabitation in SCarolina. If I were the beneficiary on a life insurance policay, left some clothing or belongings in the residence, etc. would that be a problem?

Re: cohabitation

Typically, cohabitation means living together with few breaks. Spending vacations and weekends together should not constitute cohabitation, assuming that you both have separate residences at which you normally reside.

If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.StevensFirm.com). I wish you the best of luck.
