Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Contempt of Court

What do I need to do if the decree ordered my wife to pay half of the mortgage until sold and she is not showing any attempt to pay half of anything on the mortgage and expenses in order to sell the property? What paperwork I need to file to get her back into court to rectify this issue?

Re: Contempt of Court

You can file a Rule to Show Cause (contempt action) against her, which will give the Court several options as to how to deal with her violation of the Court Order and how to force her to comply in the future.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
