Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Court date requirements

My husband has been living with his girlfriend for eleven months. I still do not have a court date. I have mediation scheduled next month. I have one 14 year old child at home. Is the mediation required before I can get a court date or can a date be scheduled since I already have a Mediation date? My attorney is busy and it is hard to contact him to get answers. I do have a meeting with him before Mediation but hope you could answer my question.

Re: Court date requirements

In certain counties, mediation is mandatory before the Court will schedule a final hearing. Since you already have an attorney, I am limited in what information I can give you at this time.

If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.StevensFirm.com). I wish you the best of luck.
