custody battle

we are in a custody battle with my husbands ex.... we been to court.... and both parties want to settle out of court now... what do we do... can both parties get together and type something up and just get it notorized? what do you think is the best way?

If the parties have reached an agreement on all issues, it's possible to just schedule a short hearing to put the agreement on the record and ask the Court to approve it.

Unless the agreement is approved by the Court and included in an Order, it is not enforcable, so simply having it notarized alone doesn't really do anything.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
