Custody of Stepchild

Mom has legal custody, but she dropped him off @her mother's & told him he could not come bk. He is thirteen. My husband & I want to sue for custody. What happens in the mean time-do we file a police report stating what she did? He is with us-we dont want to get in trouble.!! what should we do?

Filing a police report will not really help all that much. What you need to do is to consult an attorney and file an action for custody a.s.a.p., if that is what the father wants to pursue.
