Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina
denial of passport
Recently i was denied a passport due to my name on a list with the dept of rev in fla,to my surprise it says i owe a substantial amount of child support. the case in ? is about 30 yrs old it was thrown out of the courts in 1992 and an abatement was filed on it.No money has ever been collected from me in any way all this time,i have always had a known address, and place of employment, for years i disputed this case after the first child was proven not to be mine,I requested a dna for the 2nd child and the other party involved declined it,thats when it was tossed from the court system for the 3 rd time.My question is if this arrearage cannot be enforced through the courts then how can The dept of rev hold this over my head hence keeping me on this list.I have spoken with both states involved, one wont touch it they filed the abatement, the other dont even have my ssn on file where i was born and say i owe them nothing, they wont touch this case, all i want is my passport so i can travel for business, plz help

Re: denial of passport
You need to contact an experienced family law attorney in Florida, who should be able to assist you in getting this resolved. Unfortunately, there is not much that can be done from here in SC to resolve this situation.
If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.StevensFirm.com). I wish you the best of luck.
