Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Disabled Mother

I am disable dand my father is raising my daughter who is now 7 years old. He originally was helping me with care for her but I had to be admitted to a mental hospital when she was a few months old. My older sister said she would help me raise my daughter but somehow we got caught in a bad situation. At a hearing, the judge ordered my new home and the home of my daughter be evaluated. After that heainrg, we never heard back from the attorney. I have only seen my daughter 5 or 6 times over the past years. I am not allowed to visit the home because my father won't let me. I want to see my daughter during holidays and spring and summer break. What can I do?

Re: Disabled Mother

Without knowing more information, it's not possible to give you any specific information. Your best bet is to hire an attorney to find out what happened before, why, and then discuss your best course of action from this point forward.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.

If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.StevensFirm.com). I wish you the best of luck.
