Re: divorce agreement
Having your signatures notarized is not a requirement in SC to have an agreement approved. The issue is whether the agreement is fair, equitable, in the best interest of yourselves and the children, and whether it is properly drafted.
The few dollars that you try to save now by not having an attorney handle this for you can end up causing you many problems and cost you a great deal of money down the road. For that reason, you may want to reconsider your decision to try to do this yourself.
These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
