Divorce in US Courts for Hindu of India
Can a one of the spouce of a couple married as per Hindu Vedic Rites and governed under Hindu Law seek for decree of divorce in US Courts since they had lastly resided together in US and whether the decree is so granted by the US court whether it will be valid in Indian Courts?

Where are they residing at the time of divorce petition? If both are in US it will be a valid divorce. Binding in both the countries, subject to certain conditions.

Assuming that the other party has left US and is residing in India, it can be valid LEGAL divorce by US court as recognised in India only when it CONFORMS to the rules laid down by the Supreme Court of India.The querist has not stated anything about marriage property and whether they lived last in a community state in USA. Also if there are children and issue of their custody is to be addressed too.
