Divorce

My great grandmother recently got a divorce from her husband. The court granted her the house and he is supposed to pay her money. He comes into the house whenever he pleases and doesnt pay a dime. What can she do?

Re: Divorce

She has several options available to her, including (a) changing the locks to keep him out, (b) calling law enforcement to make him leave, (c) issuing a "no tresspass" notice to him, and/or (d) filing a contempt action in Family Court to have him held in contempt for violating the Order granting her exclusive use and possession of the house.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
