Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

My husband filed for separate maintenance and now we have been separated for over a year. if my attorney serves him for final divorce hearing does his attorney have to reply back ? we reached an agreement in the temporary hearing and the 2nd hearing to finalize everything.

He doesn't "have" to file anything in response, but he has to have the opportunity to do so. Generally, when there is an agreement to amend to ask for the divorce on one year separation, the other side will consent and waive notice.
