divorce

How can I get a divorce from the husband that I have lived apart from for 18 months and cannot locate? I have no address or phone number for him.

Re: divorce

It is possible to obtain a divorce from a person who cannot be located, but there are certain "hoops" that must be jumped through first. The process involves verifying that he cannot be located and then getting the Court to authorize you to serve him by publication in the newspaper.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
