Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Divorce

I left my husband for his history of adultery altho I have no proof. I moved out and left a P.O. box address for him to send Divorce papers too. I am not hiring an attorney. We have no children. Can he divorce me without notifying me saying he doesn't know my whereabouts? Can he notify me by newspaper? Should I mail his attorney a certified note with my P.O. Box address to cover myself?

Re: Divorce

He cannot divorce you without proper notice. If he cannot locate you, he can notify you with a legal ad in the newspaper. Yes, send his attorney a certified letter with your address, and then file it with the court (this can only be filed after your husband has filed his divorce papers).
