Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

divorce litigation

i have a friend who is getting a divorce in SC. they have kids. he has had affairs (in other states) and the wife knows of one as the mistress approached the wife. my question is, what rights does the wife have to go after the mistresses? can their records be subpeonad? the husband remains friends with a few of the mistresses (crazy i know) and would they be wise to get an attorney or is there little that can be done to them? also, there was an incident long before the affairs which lead to the major marital problems. thanks.

Re: divorce litigation

It is not clear whether you are asking what the wife can do to go after the mistresses or what the mistresses can do to protect themselves from that happening. The fact is that the wife can attempt to introduce information about the adultery, the affairs, and the mistresses, but there are procedural rules that must be followed in doing so. If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.StevensFirm.com). I wish you the best of luck.
