Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina
divorce
I and my wife both wish to be divorced but do not meet the No-fault ground in SC. We have 1 child which will likely be a contested issue. I left our home in March and have established separate residency as of August 1, 07. I have not spoken to either for several months. In July, I discovered she has vacated our last home and don't know exactly where she or my daughter may be. I have recently been given a clue to their whereabouts but do not know for certain. I refuse to speak with her for the very reason I left, I'm tired of the ridicule and verbal and sometimes physical treatment I receive. I believe my daughter is best suited to be with me, however I am a driver by profession and am only home once a week. My wife is also a driver and her employment is unknown to me. Her mother lives in SC, I have no relatives in state. I have someone able and willing to help me raise my daughter and feel I am better suited to provide for her, ie. more stable. I am on my way to being home Fri, 8-24 and don't know what action to take, if any, to begin this process. Any information you provide me will be greatly accepted. My online availability is mobile. I will provide more information if requested. Please respond. Thank you.

Re: divorce
Since every case is different due to the specific people and facts of each, it is impossible to give you an "real" advice in this forum without knowing much, much more information.
These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.StevensFirm.com). I wish you the best of luck.
