Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina
I have been divorced for five years. How can I change my divorce decree to state that I will be the sole person able to claim the children (on taxes) as long as they live with me? We were divorced in Washington State, and neither of us live there now. I, unfortunately live in the South now, and it appears they have absolutely NO "diy" documents, or questions.
Can you please help me?

You didn't state what the Order says now. If it says that the other party can claim the children, then you will need to petition the Court to attempt to have it modified. Whether the Court will allow you to do so is based on numerous factors, which are too lengthy to get into in this forum.
These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
