Domestic Adoption in SC

Can the birth parents get custody of the child after the adoption has been completed? At any point in the childs life....

Typically, after an adoption has been completed, the "birth parents" are out of the picture from a legal standpoint, as their parental rights are terminated as part of the adoption process.

There are certain situations under which one or both could try to have the adoption overturned, but those are very fact specific and that is a difficult process (to say the least).

These are very complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
