Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Is she entitled to alimony?

My spouse left me and bought a house on her own (leaving me with full house payment of marital residence.)

ONLY after she moved out and we separated did I commit and therfore admit to adultery. Is she entitled to half equity of our marital home (which is solely in my name?)

Also, we have no children and she and I were only married 7 years.

Re: Is she entitled to alimony?

Both spouses are entitled to a portion of the assets and debts which were accumulated during the marriage. The Court can consider fault in dividing the marital estate, and the "guilty" spouse could get less than one-half.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
